Finger Roll Basketball layup drills are an important technique for scoring layups. As with any skill, the key to mastering it is practice. The finger roll technique involves rolling the ball off of the tips of the fingers while in mid-air just before finishing the layup. The purpose of this technique is to add backspin to the ball, making it more difficult for the defender to block it.
Benefits: Protects the ball in from the defender, and makes it easy to finish in transition.
